Museum Accepting Applications for Summer 2019 Interns
Applications for a summer internship at the David Owsley Museum of Art will be accepted beginning Friday, February 1, with a deadline of February 15.
Internships for Ball State University undergraduate and graduate students are available for credit or no credit. All internships should total at least 150 hours by the end of the semester. Note: Students may do more hours to meet departmental credit requirements. Interns are paid $7.25/hour.
Internships in collection management, curatorial research and planning, museum education, public relations and marketing, and exhibition design and installation are offered depending upon current projects.
Beginning February 1, students interested in a Summer 2019 internship at DOMA should first visit the Career Center in Lucina Hall Room 220 to obtain a Student Employment Referral for posting #10627. The Career Center will provide additional application instructions for submitting materials (including a cover letter, resume, transcript, and two professional or academic letters of reference).
David Owsley Museum of Art internships are pre-arranged, structured learning experiences, scheduled within a specific period. They should be relevant to both the intern's stated academic and/or professional goals, and the museum's goals, needs, and priorities.
Applicants requested for an interview will be contacted by the end of the month following the internship application deadline, e.g. March 31 for February 15.
Note: Interns must sign and submit the Ball State University Background Check Consent and Release Form, complete university-required online training, and attend a museum intern orientation at the beginning of the semester.
Contact Tania Said at tsaid@bsu.edu for additional internship information. No phone calls please.
